We’re Instant Pest Solutions — a Liverpool-based, family-run business protecting commercial sites across the North West and bird-control sites across the United Kingdom. For more than 20 years we’ve helped food producers, manufacturers, retailers, social landlords and facilities teams stay compliant, reputation-safe and pest-free.
The family behind IPS
It started with one belief: that good pest control isn’t a quick spray and a pat on the back — it’s a long-term partnership with the people running the building.
Our Director, Paul Saven, has spent 38 years working in pest management. He’s seen what works, what doesn’t, and where the industry too often falls short — technicians sent in fast and back out even faster, with no real understanding of the customer’s business or the audit, compliance and reputational pressures sitting behind it.
IPS was built to do things differently. We’ve grown into a team that brings the calm, considered approach of a family business and matches it with the documentation, accreditations and audit-readiness that the biggest national contracts demand. The result is a service that’s personal enough to feel like part of your team, and rigorous enough to stand up to BRC, AIB, EHO and major retailer specifications.

When you take on IPS, you’re not just buying a monitoring contract. You get our knowledge, our willingness to escalate issues all the way to your MD if that’s what it takes to protect your operation, and a service built around prevention rather than reaction.
Reactive treatments work — but they cost more, and they mean a problem has already happened. We’d rather spend our time spotting the gap under the door, the broken air-brick or the conservatory pontoon that’s letting pests in, long before any of it shows up on an EHO walk-around or a customer’s phone camera.
And if a recommendation isn’t being actioned, we don’t shrug and walk away. We follow it through with the site manager, the FM contact, and — if we have to — we knock on the MD’s door. We’ve had Managing Directors thank us for doing exactly that.

What partnership with IPS looks like
Food & Drink
A national rice processor relies on IPS to provide an early-warning system across two UK sites. We’re watching for the store-product insects — Indian meal moth, rice weevil, flour beetle, sawtooth grain beetle — that can render an entire bin unfit for human consumption. Catching one early can save tens of thousands of pounds in fumigation, downgrading to animal feed, or full write-off.
Multi-site Retail
A North West multi-site retail chain trusts IPS with monitoring and reactive call-outs across around 40 stores. We know which sites the EHO is most likely to walk into, and we follow our recommendations through with store managers until they’re closed out. The relationship has held for five years — because our standard isn’t “in quick, out quick”.
Manufacturing
A long-term automotive client uses IPS for an annual seagull deterrent programme, rolled out before nesting season every year.
